‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ observed in Karbi Anglong

DIPHU, Sept 18: As part of the nationwide “Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” (SNSPA), being observed from September 17 to October 2, a special health programme was organised on Wednesday at Mohindijua Sub-Health Centre (SHC) in Karbi Anglong district.

The event saw active community participation and offered a wide range of health services for women and children.

A live telecast of the national launch of the Abhiyaan by the Prime Minister was also screened.

Specialist doctors conducted health check-ups, including screening for non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, cancer, eye care, and antenatal care for pregnant women.

Registration for digital health cards and key government schemes such as the Mother and Child Protection (MCP) Card, Sickle Cell Card, Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card, and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana was also facilitated.

The programme was attended by MP Amarsing Tisso as chief guest, along with KAAC Executive Member for Health and Family Welfare Surjya Rongphar, KAAC Principal Secretary Mukul Kumar Saikia, IAS, District Commissioner Nirola Phangchopi, and other dignitaries.

NHM staff were also present.

On the occasion, PMJAY cards and Nikshay Mitra food baskets were distributed to beneficiaries.

The dignitaries lauded the initiative, stressing that women’s health forms the foundation of strong families and a developed nation.
