Tamulpur DRDA Project Director Bhaskar Jyoti Barua retires

TAMULPUR, Feb 28: Bhaskar Jyoti Barua, the efficient and popular Project Director of the Tamulpur District Rural Development Agency, formally retired on Saturday after a long career in service.

 On this occasion, the officers and staff of the District Rural Development Agency accorded him a warm farewell a day earlier.

He began his career on January 6, 1997, as a Junior Engineer in the Rural Development Department. During his tenure as Project Director of Udalguri and Tamulpur districts from 2021 to 2026, the Tamulpur development block secured a top position in the NITI Aayog rankings.

Born in 1966 at Helem Tea Estate in Sonitpur district, Barua is the worthy son of Nareshwar Barua and Milanprabha Barua.

During the farewell meeting, departmental colleagues praised his honesty, dedication and leadership. He was widely respected as a compassionate citizen and an elder-brother-like figure to many.

The staff wished him good health and a long life. Tamulpur District Information and Public Relations Officer Bijoy Bezbaruah also felicitated him with a traditional gamocha and Aronai.
