Many female cancer patients experience hair loss during their treatment, which can lead to depression and social withdrawal. Some patients even abandon their treatment. ‘Project Soundarya’ was launched in collaboration with the Council For Child Welfare (ICCW), Tezpur branch, led by social worker and physician Dr. Lakshmi Goswami, with support from Natco CSR.

The project provides special wigs and other support to help patients regain their confidence and beauty. It aims to address the mental and emotional challenges faced by cancer patients undergoing treatment.

Dr. Venkata Pradeep Babu, known for his dedication to the welfare of cancer patients, is currently serving at Tezpur Cancer Centre. He had previously initiated ‘Project Khisiri’ to provide nutritious food and assistance to needy cancer patients.

In a recent program held at the Tezpur Cancer Centre auditorium, medical officers from the Assam Cancer Care Foundation, members and officials of ICCW, Tezpur branch, and other dignitaries were present. Wigs and other support were distributed among female patients during the event. Binu Bhuyan, a member of ICCW, Tezpur branch, expressed their commitment to helping needy patients in collaboration with the cancer care center.
