TEZPUR, April 29: Recognizing the evolving academic landscape and the mandate of NEP 2020 towards revolutionizing higher education in India, Tezpur University (TU) has launched eight new innovative programmes from the Academic Year 2025-26. Among these programmes, the dual degree B.Tech MBA programme is Northeast India’s only such programme at present. This programme combines the studies of engineering and management into a single integrated course, merging two different yet converging fields.
The other new programmes launched this year are: BA in Linguistics and Language Technology, BA in Sociology, M.Tech in Solar Energy Engineering, M.Tech in Manufacturing Technology and Automation, MA in Translation Studies, Executive Development Programme in Renewable Energy and Energy Management, and Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Markets.

TU has already launched its admission portal to facilitate the admission and registration of students in various programmes of study during the academic year 2025-26. The University would admit students through the following entrance examinations: Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE), Graduate Aptitude Test – Biotechnology (GAT-B), Common University Entrance Test-Under Graduate and Post Graduate (CUET-UG & PG-2025), the Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Mains), Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED), UG- National Institute of Design (NID) Design Aptitude Test (DAT), and the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED). The University has been offering mentoring and guidance for its programmes to prospective students through its helpline number.
Students can explore a wide range of programmes in the Schools of Sciences, Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management, and Multidisciplinary Studies. The University currently offers eighty-four (84) academic programmes, encompassing UG, PG, Dual Degree, PhD, Diploma, and Executive programmes across diverse disciplines.

The last date for online application submission is May 10, 2025. The dates for the Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE) is scheduled in the second week of June, 2025 which will be notified shortly. Subject to fulfilment of certain criteria, Tezpur University has adopted a policy for free studentship with full waiver of the tuition fee for students under below poverty line (BPL) category.
