Guwahati, Jan 22 : Guwahati police have detained three persons in connection with the high-profile armed robbery at Sneharoi Apartment in the city’s Ganeshpara area, giving investigators a crucial lead in the case.
The incident occurred late Monday night at the residence of businessman Anil Deka. Police said four armed miscreants arrived at the apartment in a four-wheeler vehicle and carried out the robbery in a planned manner, spending nearly 40 minutes inside the house.

According to officials, the suspects were picked up during overnight operations by the Fatasil Ambari Police and are currently being interrogated. Further arrests are expected as the investigation progresses.
At the time of the robbery, Anil Deka and his daughter were not at home. His wife, Karabi Deka, and the family’s driver were present and were allegedly threatened at gunpoint. Police said the assailants pointed a pistol at Karabi Deka and assaulted her with a sharp weapon before fleeing with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables.
The bold and violent nature of the crime has triggered concern among local residents. CCTV cameras installed in the apartment complex captured the entire episode, and police are analysing the footage to identify all those involved and trace the movement of the accused.
Soon after the incident, local police reached the spot and launched a detailed investigation. With multiple suspects now in custody, authorities believe the case is nearing a major breakthrough.
