Three new train services to be flagged off today

Road Over Bridge at Tetelia to be dedicated to the nation

GUWAHATI, Jan 2: In a bid to enhance rail connectivity within the North-eastern states, three new train services will be flagged off on January 3 from Guwahati Railway Station along with a Road Over Bridge at Tetelia will be dedicated to the nation during the same programme along with various other programmes, said an official statement on Thursday.

Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya; chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and minister of railways, information & broadcasting and electronics & information technology Ashwini Vaishnaw will honour the ceremony from Guwahati Railway Station.  General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava with senior officials of Headquarter and Divisions, Local MP/MLAs and other dignitaries will also be present at the programme, it added. 

 The inaugural special train No. 02047 (Guwahati – North Lakhimpur), train no. 05817 (New Bongaigaon – Guwahati) and train no. 05911 (Tinsukia – Naharlagun) are planned to be flagged off at 11:50 hours.

The regular services of train no. 55818/55817 (Guwahati – New Bongaigaon – Guwahati) Daily Passenger will commence its journey from 04.01.2025 onwards. Train no. 55818 (Guwahati – New Bongaigaon) Passenger will depart from Guwahati at 07:55 hours to reach New Bongaigaon at 12:10 hours on the same day. In return direction, train no. 55817 (New Bongaigaon – Guwahati) Passenger will depart from New Bongaigaon at 14:30 hours to reach Guwahati at 20:00 hours. 

Similarly, train no. 15911/15912 (Tinsukia – Naharlagun – Tinsukia) Tri-weekly Express will commence its regular journey from 05.01.2025 onwards. Train no. 15912 (Naharlagun – Tinsukia) Express will depart from Naharlagun on every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 07:45 hours to reach Tinsukia at 14:00 hours. In return direction, train no. 15911 (Tinsukia – Naharlagun) Express will depart from Tinsukia on Thursday, Friday and Monday at 15:35 hours to reach Naharlagun at 21:45 hours.

Another train no. 12047/12048 (Guwahati – North Lakhimpur – Guwahati) Bi-weekly Jan Shatabdi Express will commence its regular journey from 07.01.2025 onwards on every Tuesday and Wednesday. Train no. 12047 (Guwahati – North Lakhimpur) Jan Shatabdi Express will depart from Guwahati at 09:50 hours to reach North Lakhimpur at 16:15 hours on the same day. In return direction, train no. 12048 (North Lakhimpur – Guwahati) Jan Shatabdi Express will depart from North Lakhimpur at 17:00 hours to reach Guwahati at 23:25 hours on the same day. 

Additionally, a new Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Tetelia station yard constructed by Northeast Frontier Railway will be dedicated for the use of the common public during the ceremony.

The ROB (No 59A) was constructed by Northeast Frontier Railway at a total cost of Rs. 72 crores replacing level crossing gate no ST-22 at Tetelia station yard, the statement said.
