TEOK, Feb 19: Two young talents from Teok have brought pride to Assam after clinching gold at the recently concluded National Taekwondo Championship held in Jaipur.
Prajnyandeep Bharali, son of Jintu Bharali and Trishnapriya Buragohain Bharali from Gayon Gaon in Jagduar, Teok, and Prandeep Gogoi, son of Nilakshi Sonowal Gogoi from Kaliapani, Teok, secured gold medals in the Sub Junior Poomsae category at the national competition.
Both are members of the Kaliapani Taekwondo Club and train under the guidance of Grandmaster Raju Konwar. Their consistent dedication and disciplined practice helped them shine on the national stage, bringing recognition not only to Teok but to the entire state.
Hailing from a region where sporting facilities are limited, their success has been described as deeply inspiring. Achieving such distinction at a young age and representing Assam at the national level is a proud moment for the community.
Parents and well wishers have called the duo an example for other young aspirants and have urged greater support from the public and the government to nurture emerging sports talent from rural areas like Teok.
