GOSSAIGAON, Aug 23: In the wake of the horrific gang rape and murder of a doctor at the R.G. Kar Medical College in Kolkata, West Bengal and a gang rape of a minor girl in Dhing, a similar shocking incident has shaken the Gossaigaon subdivision, where two teenage girls went missing at night and has led to a tense situation in Tulsibil on Aug 24.
According to the information available here, two teenage girls suddenly went missing from their homes last night prompting their families to report the incident to the nearest Tulsibil police station. The police, along with the sub-divisional police officer soon receiving the information launched a search operation across various areas.

As the incident spread rapidly, local residents also accompanied in patrolling the area to find out the missing girls. Sensing danger, the group that had abducted the girls abandoned them in a deserted area and fled.
Later this morning, when the local residents found the two girls who went missing at night from a deserted area about 10 kilometers away from Tulsibil informed the police and were taken them into custody.
The police then examined one of the girl’s mobile phones, including her Instagram and Messenger accounts, leading to the arrest of three youths involved in the incident. The suspects are currently being interrogated by the police.
It is disclosed that the girls were lured by a group of miscreants from right in front of their home and taken away in a vehicle during the night. When the girls did not return home for a long time, their families grew suspicious, leading to a state of panic.
The families informed the police about the girls’ disappearance, after which a search operation was launched , forcing those miscreants to abandon the girls and flee.
One of the girls is now under police custody, while the other, who fell ill, has been admitted to a hospital for better treatment.
The police have arrested three youths in connection with the incident and have been identified as Jamal Khan (21) of Choutara, Sheikh Abdullah (21) of Harbhanga village, and Noor Alam (25) of Jaipura village. Additionally, the vehicle used in the abduction has been recovered by the police.
Following the incident, hundreds of local people came out on the street and staged protest in front of Tulsibil police station, alleging that the two girls were gang-raped and demanded a proper investigation and appropriate punishment for the culprits.
Simultaneously, local organizations like AKRASU, AMSU, and ABMSU condemned the incident and demanded a thorough investigation and strict punishment for those involved in the heinous crime. They also urged that no one should exploit this incident for communal politics or disrupt the peace and harmony in the area.
