Tyagbir Hem Baruah College commences diamond jubilee celebrations

Biswanath Chariali, June 28: The prestigious Tyagbir Hem Baruah College, a leading higher education institution, will inaugurate its diamond jubilee celebration on July 16. The college has planned a year-long series of programs to mark its foundation day. The unanimous decision was made during a solemn meeting presided over by Dr Bipul Kumar Bora, the president of the college’s Governing Body. Dr Khanjan Kumar Das, associate professor of the Assamese department, facilitated the meeting.

Dr Ajit Hazarika, the college’s principal, outlined the meeting’s objectives and expressed the college’s desire to conclude the diamond jubilee with the support and cooperation of the people from the Naduar area. The meeting was attended by Padma Hazarika, an alumnus of the college and chairman of the Garukhuti Project, as well as MLA Sootea LAC. Bhaba Goswami, president of the Baresahariya Bhaona Standing Committee, retired associate professors from the English department, and renowned writers Indra Prasad Saikia and Narayan Saikia also provided valuable suggestions during the meeting.

The principal of THB College announced that the newly introduced integrated BEd course would be officially launched on July 16 during the inaugural function of the diamond jubilee. The meeting approved the formation of a steering committee to oversee and organise the celebrations of the diamond jubilee.
