GUWAHATI, July 29: Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
Under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, ‘Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @ 2047’ celebrations have been organised from July 25 to 30, led by the ministry of Power, MNRE and other partner ministries. Achievements over the last 8 years in the transformation of the power sector, including the renewable energy sector are being highlighted, covering both Central and respective state government achievements as well as aspirations for the year 2047. As a part of the celebrations, district level events are being organised in two villages of each district in all the 761 districts of India in hybrid mode.
Primarily rural electrification in remote villages of Assam under SAUBHAGYA and DDUGJY – new is emphasised with the assistance of the district administration, MoP, MNRE and APDCL. National celebration is planned through a hybrid mode to be held at 100 locations across the country on July 30, where 2 locations in Assam, Kokrajhar and Mangaldai are also included. The Prime Minister will interact with beneficiaries in five locations through video conferencing and will launch a new scheme in Power Distribution-RDSS and a national portal for solar rooftop.
