According to reports, the body was discovered when a local couple went to the pond to catch fish. They noticed a portion of the body protruding from the mud and immediately alerted other villagers, who later informed the police.

Local residents said the victim’s face was tied with a cloth, raising suspicion that the incident could be a case of murder.

Although the identity of the deceased has not yet been officially confirmed, villagers have expressed concern that the body might be that of Dilip Nath, a married resident of Rongkut Block No. 3 who has reportedly been missing for the past few days.

Police reached the spot and recovered the body, which has been sent to the Diphu Medical College & Hospital for post-mortem examination.
