Union Minister Raosaheb Patil Danve Visits Barpeta

GUWAHATI, April 19: The Union minister of State for Railways, Coal and Mines, Government of India, Raosaheb Patil Danve, visited Barpeta on Tuesday to assess and review the progress of various developmental projects under the Aspirational Districts’ Programme. During his visit, he inspected the railway section between Kamakhya – Barpeta Road and held discussions with the railway officials.

In his tour on Tuesday, he visited 827 No. Khairabari LP School at Barpeta and interacted with the teachers and students of the school.

“It feels good to spend some time with these kids as if the fatigue of the journey has vanished. It is good to see the future of the country being strengthened,” he tweeted.

He said that this place is the land of saints, a holy land. The geographical location here makes this region unique.

Praising the livelihood of the local people, he said that the Central Government is taking many steps under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove the obstacles. Further, minister Danve inaugurated the beneficiary’s house at Buduru Tup, Ward No. 13 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban.

“All of them expressed their gratitude to PM Modi for fulfilling the dream of pucca house. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has changed the lives of lakhs of families by providing them a roof over their heads,” he said. He also spent a moment with the beneficiaries and held a review meeting for the development of Barpeta with the MPs, MLAs of all the parties in the district commissioner’s office.

Referring to the other challenges of the people of Barpeta, he said that the Central Government is giving special emphasis on education, agriculture, PM Awas Yojana, etc.

During his stay, he appreciated the combined form of women empowerment and Vocal for Local by presenting to Raipur Bamboo Cluster, Howly in Barpeta.

Danve further said, “Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi is ensuring Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal.”

With the basic mantra of ‘Antyodaya’, the vision of upliftment of the last man of the society is now taking shape.

Danve also gave information about National Health Mission, Ayushman Bharat, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, PMAY scheme and reminded Prime Minister Modi’s mantra – ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’.

The ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’ programme is one such initiative by NITI Aayog, which aims to rapidly improve the socio-economic status of 115 backward districts by promoting a culture of competitive federalism in India.

Along with Barpeta, 6 more such districts have been declared as Aspirational Districts in Assam.
