KOKRAJHAR, Sept 18: With the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections scheduled for September 22, campaigning has picked up pace across the region.
In the Kachugaon constituency, Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma has actively participated in a series of pocket campaigns supporting UPPL candidate Ukil Muchahary.

The outreach programmes, held across various villages and localities, witnessed enthusiastic public participation.
During the visits, Urkhao Gwra Brahma interacted with voters, addressing their concerns and emphasising the UPPL’s commitment to peace, stability, and inclusive development in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
He highlighted the achievements of the UPPL-led administration and urged people to support Ukil Muchahary to ensure continued progress in Kachugaon.
In the Salakati constituency, BPF candidate Derhasat Basumatary conducted multiple pocket meetings, engaging with voters and presenting his development agenda.
UPPL candidate Lawrence Islary also intensified campaign activities across the constituency.
The UPPL received a boost when over 200 individuals from various parties joined the party during a ceremony in Salakati, strengthening its position ahead of the polls.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate Kabita Basumatary and Congress candidate Rajib Basumatary were also actively conducting pocket campaigns, adding momentum to the electoral contest in Salakati.
