US tourist dies in a road accident

NAGAON, Dec 21: Berry Thomson, a US tourist traveling through India on a Royal Enfield Himalayan bike, tragically lost her life in a road accident on Saturday near Blue Hill Dhaba on the Lumding-Haflong National Highway in Hojai district.

The accident occurred when a speeding truck, reportedly from Ashok Leyland, hit the bike from behind. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.
Local police rushed Thomson to Lumding Civil Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Authorities are investigating the incident while efforts to trace the absconding truck driver are underway.
