Warehouse Receipt Finance (WRF) launched

TEZPUR, May 27: For the first time in the Northeast region a ‘pilot project’ named ‘Warehouse Receipt Finance’ was formally launched in Tezpur on Friday. In a special function organised by Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation project (APART) of Sonitpur District Agricultural department in association with ICCOA, at Tezpur Rubber Bagan ASWC warehouse, DC Sonitpur Deba Kumar Mishra and managing director of Assam state warehouse corporation Pradip Timung jointly inaugurated the project. Under this project, three production companies (FPC) respectively, Majia Farmer Production company, Jaimati Farmer Production company and Seuj Nayan Farmer Production Company will store their production in this warehouse and based on their stored produce they will get loan from Arya.ag (Arya collateral warehousing services Private limited).

Launching the project DC, Sonitpur, Deba Kumar Mishra urged all concerned to deal with the project honestly and handed over a loan sanction letter of Rs 1 crore to Seuj Nayan Farmer Production Company based on the corn produced by them and stored in the warehouse.

It needs mention here that till date, Seuj Nayan FPC has stored 542 metric ton corn and Majia FPC has stored 57 metric tons seed of Ranjit sub-1 rice.

The programme was conducted by District Agricultural Officer Pankaj Kumar Saikia and was graced by a host of dignitaries including Nibha Kumari from APART, senior agricultural officer Khanindra Ratna Barman, Tezpur Warehouse manager Jugal Saikia, ADO Dipankar Barik, Kaurav Srivastav, DDM of NABARD Pratim Nath, Abhinav Kumar from UCO bank, Kishore Baruah from ICCOA, Agricultural extension officer Nipen Rajbongshi, Samser Ahmed, media expert Bitupon Saikia and over 200 farmers.
