SIVASAGAR, May 28: Speaking in a public talk on the theme – ‘Diversity, Inclusion and Mutual Respect’ under C20 (Civil 20), which is one of the official engagement groups of G20, Dr Protim Sharma, associate professor of Dikhowmukh College and the appointed speaker said, “There cannot be one-size-fit-all model for handling all challenges. While diversity is a fact of life, inclusion is a choice we must consciously make, which will lead to mutual respect for one another.”
The C20 event was jointly organised by Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture and the Sivasagar branch of Vivekananda Kendra in association with the departments of Higher Education and Secondary Education, government of Assam, on Saturday at Sibsagar Girls’ College auditorium.
The inaugural speech was delivered by Aditya Bikram Yadav, deputy commissioner of Sivasagar, while Dr Rita Borkotoky, principal of Sibsagar Girls’ College and Dr Prakash Kotoky, vibhag sanchalak of Jorhat-Sivasagar vibhag of Vivekananda Kendra lighted the ceremonial lamp. The special programme was attended by more than 200 students and teachers from various schools and colleges of Sivasagar district, which was compered by Mitali Lahon and the vote of thanks was offered by Abhijit Borpuzari.
