Wild Elephants Damage Shops In Karbi Anglong

 BOKAJAN, Sept 12: Two wild elephants pulled down shops in Bokajan sub-division and raided them for food. Late on Sunday night around 9:30 pm, two wild elephants under Eastern Division Bokajan Forest Range damaged two shops at Lakhijan road.

This is the second such incident of demolishing shops by wild elephants in Bokajan sub-division, Karbi Anglong. The wild elephants have created a habitat in Kuligaon and Lakhijan area and are attacking people’s homes. In the incident the shop owners escaped without any injuries however they sustained a loss of Rs 40,000.
