JORHAT, Dec 5: The Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya in Golaghat, is hosting a three-day workshop titled ‘Exploring Opportunities and Challenges in Sustainable Agriculture: Crop Farming and Marketing Strategies for Small-Scale Cultivators’, which began on Thursday.
The workshop was organised by the Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing, Jaipur, in collaboration with the Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Labourers’ Development Association, with local support from the University. The event was inaugurated by Prof G Singaiah, vice-chancellor of the University, and featured distinguished speakers, including Uday Kumar Khanikar, the University’s registrar; Aditee Chetia from PUM Netherlands; progressive tea farmer Manoj Kurmi; assistant director Ranjan Baruah from the Golaghat District Agriculture Office; journalist Apurba Ballav Goswami; and Dr Raj Kumar Gohain Baruah from Mariani College’s Botany department.
