GOSSAIGAON, Oct 30: The Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) has launched a three-day training program for homestay owners and rural tourism operators near Raimona and Sikhna Jwhwlao National Parks in Bodoland.
Organised in collaboration with the Forest Department and the Department of Tourism, Bodoland Territorial Council, the initiative aims to enhance hospitality skills, promote eco-friendly tourism and empower local communities, particularly women. The program, supported by the Eicher Group Foundation under the Royal Enfield Social Mission, attracted 35 participants from nearby villages.

Sessions covered guest management, hygiene and safety standards, responsible tourism, marketing linkages, traditional cuisine and sustainable practices. Officials highlighted that the training will boost community-led tourism while supporting conservation efforts in the parks.
WTI representatives expressed optimism that trained homestay operators will help establish Bodoland as a key ecotourism destination, preserving both cultural and natural heritage.
