Youth Congress Leader From Tinsukia Joins ULFA-I

DIBRUGARH, April 18: The vice president of the Tinsukia district youth Congress Janardan Gogoi has reportedly joined the militant outfit ULFA-I.

This was revealed by the youth Congress leader himself through a Facebook post on Sunday addressed to his wife Reema who is currently pregnant.

Gogoi is a resident of Uday Nagar area of Sadiya in Tinsukia district. In the long Facebook post Gogoi explained the reasons behind joining the ULFA-I.

In recent times, there has been a surge in the number of youths from across the state who have left their homes to join the militant group.

DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta had also recently mentioned that the state police is aware of reports of many youths, both male and female going missing and were ‘suspected’ to have joined the militant outfit.
