Chanerika, son of Sukdev Chouhan was traveling by train to Kerala when he was found dead on the tracks in Orissa on November 9. The recently launched Shraddhanjali Scheme facilitates the repatriation of bodies of economically backward persons who die in any other state of India at government expense.

The body arrived in Jagiroad amid a grim atmosphere with BJP leaders and workers of the constituency present to pay their respects. The government-funded scheme ensured that Chanerika’s body was safely returned to his family in his village.
