GUWAHATI, Feb 28: The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) presented the Technovation Awards 2026 during the IESA Vision Summit at The Leela Bhartiya City Convention Centre in Bengaluru, recognising leading innovators and institutions shaping India’s electronics and semiconductor ecosystem.
Held on February 25–26, the two-day summit brought together industry leaders, government representatives, startups and academic institutions under the theme “Design to Manufacturing: Synergy of Product, Production and Skill”, highlighting India’s ambition to evolve into a global product and manufacturing hub.
Congratulating the winners, IESA president Ashok Chandak said the awards celebrate innovation depth, entrepreneurial spirit and execution excellence that are driving the country’s technology ecosystem forward.
He noted that the categories have expanded over the years to include startups, MSMEs, enterprises, techno-visionary leaders and academia, reflecting the broad spectrum of innovation and talent development within the industry.
The 2026 edition of the awards was supported by technology companies Applied Materials and Infineon Technologies, underscoring strong industry backing for innovation and ecosystem growth.
The prestigious Dr Sarabhai Award was conferred on B V Naidu, Chairman of the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, in recognition of his contributions spanning more than three decades in innovation, skill development, policy formulation and strengthening India’s electronics system design and manufacturing ecosystem.
Under the TechnoVisionary category, awards were presented to Amitesh Kumar Sinha (Public Service), Swapnil Jain (Industry), and Debabrata Das (Techno Mentor).
The Technovation Awards across startup, MSME, enterprise and skilling categories were presented to Rajesh N Gupta (MOSart Semiconductors), Dipanjan Gope (SimYog Technology), Sairanjan Mishra (H2LOOP AI Pvt Ltd), Ashutosh Shrikant Bhabhe (IN14Silicon Solutions), Basavaraj Nagaraju (RV-SKILLS Center for Emerging Technologies), Prof Sanket Goel (BITS Pilani), Abhra Bagchi (FermionIC Design Pvt Ltd), Taninder Sijher (Sandisk India Device Design Centre) and Dr G. Sivakumar (CSIR-NAL).
Chandak said the awards assume greater significance as India’s semiconductor market is projected to cross $100 billion by 2030.
He added that recognising excellence in design, manufacturing and talent development would help accelerate the country’s journey towards becoming a globally competitive semiconductor and electronics powerhouse. Instituted in 2008 by IESA, the Technovation Awards have emerged as one of the most respected honours recognising innovation and leadership across India’s electronics and semiconductor industry.
