GUWAHATI, June 16: All four member companies of the INROAD project—Apollo Tyres, CEAT, JK Tyre and MRF—have been ranked among the top 15 strongest tyre brands globally, according to the latest annual report released by Brand Finance, a leading global brand valuation consultancy.

According to an official statement, the recognition is seen as a major endorsement of the Indian tyre industry’s global standing in terms of technological excellence, brand strength, and manufacturing capabilities. Among them, MRF stood out with a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 83.5, securing the position of the third strongest tyre brand in the world, behind only Michelin and Goodyear.

Brand Finance evaluates tyre brands worldwide based on several parameters, including brand investment, stakeholder equity, and business performance.

The presence of all four INROAD member companies in the global top 15 highlights the growing stature and resilience of Indian tyre manufacturers in the international market.

The development comes as the INROAD (Indian Natural Rubber Operations for Assisted Development) initiative, led by the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA) in partnership with the Rubber Board of India, intensifies its efforts to promote self-reliance in natural rubber production through extensive plantation, infrastructure expansion and skill development in the Northeast.

Arun Mammen, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the INROAD Project, termed the global recognition of Apollo, CEAT, JK and MRF as a proud moment for Indian manufacturing.

“This not only reflects the manufacturing and branding excellence of our companies but also validates the strategic vision for projects like INROAD that aim to build a sustainable and self-reliant supply chain for the future,” he said.

He added that the achievement reinforces the industry’s commitment to empowering rubber farmers, developing infrastructure, and aligning with India’s larger goal of becoming a global manufacturing hub.

The INROAD project has played a pivotal role in linking industry with smallholders and promoting inclusive growth in the rubber economy.

It is implementing large-scale initiatives such as iSPEED, which focuses on skilling, mechanisation, and enhancing productivity in rubber plantations.
