GUWAHATI, April 17: IRDAI has appointed ACKO as the lead insurer to drive General Insurance (GI) awareness in Assam. As a first step, ACKO along with other lead insurers will be launching a statewide campaign called ‘Beema Karo Surakshit Raho’. The campaign aims to educate people in Assam about life, motor, and health insurance and encourage them to protect their families from uncertainties. Lead insurers will be working closely with the state authority and utilizing the expertise of the industry and distribution network to run educational programs in all 35 districts of the state.
Speaking on the collaborative initiative, Ashish Mishra, EVP – Marketing, ACKO, said, “We are delighted to be a part of this initiative by IRDAI. We recognize and appreciate IRDAI’s continuous efforts to simplify insurance, helping insurers improve insurance penetration rates. ‘Bima Karo Surakshit Raho’ is a collaborative effort by the lead insurers in the state to drive the agenda of insurance awareness and penetration. All of us will be working with the support of the state authorities to drive this campaign in a phased manner to achieve meaningful outcomes.”
In its first phase, the campaign will go live in May across key districts, followed by other districts in the subsequent phases. The educational campaign aims to raise awareness about the benefits of insurance toward improving its penetration in India.
