GUWAHATI, Oct 27: Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, has extended its 5G network to 110 districts in the North East, allowing 1.7 million customers to experience the benefits of 5G.
In just one year since the launch of Airtel 5G Plus, the company has achieved this significant milestone in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. Airtel’s 5G Plus service is now accessible in all districts of the region.
This expansion has made Airtel’s 5G services available throughout the country, ensuring connectivity across every district and union territory in North East India. From picturesque locations like the living roots bridge in Meghalaya to remote villages in Arunachal Pradesh, historical sites like the Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala, and the lush tea gardens of Assam, Airtel has rapidly expanded its 5G network to cover a diverse range of areas. Additionally, it has brought connectivity to places like Bara Bazaar in Shillong and the cleanest village in Asia, ‘Mawlynnong.’

Over the past year, Airtel has been at the forefront of 5G innovation, demonstrating the transformative power of 5G through various use cases that have redefined how customers live and work. These initiatives include establishing India’s first private 5G network at the BOSCH facility in Bengaluru and partnering with Mahindra & Mahindra to create India’s first 5G-enabled auto manufacturing facility at its Chakan manufacturing unit. Airtel has also launched the Airtel Xstream Air Fiber, India’s first wireless home Wi-Fi service powered by Airtel 5G Plus in Delhi and Mumbai, showcasing its impressive 5G capabilities for consumers.
