PhonePe launches POS device for seamless payment acceptance

GUWAHATI, July 6: PhonePe, a leading digital payments platform in India, has announced the launch of its innovative Point-of-Sale (POS) device. This new device empowers merchants to accept payments through debit cards, credit cards, and UPI (Unified Payments Interface), offering them a convenient and streamlined settlement experience. Equipped with the PhonePe POS App and supporting various transaction methods such as tap, swipe, dip, and dynamic QR codes, the device aims to simplify the payment process for businesses.

Built on the Android platform, the POS device revolutionizes the checkout experience, regardless of whether customers are at the counter, table, delivery location, or anywhere with cellular coverage. Its user-friendly interface enhances the overall customer experience, providing a seamless payment process. The device ensures high reliability and security, boasting the PCI-PTS 6 certification, which safeguards both merchant and consumer data. With features like automatic batch closure and unified reconciliation, the device serves as an all-in-one solution for hassle-free account settlement, streamlining merchant operations. Available at a nominal monthly rental, the device promises world-class product quality and service from PhonePe.

Vivek Lohcheb, Head of Offline Business at PhonePe, expressed his thoughts on the announcement, stating, “The PhonePe POS device is a one-stop solution that empowers our merchant partners to enhance the purchasing experience for their consumers. With its unified and cohesive interface supporting various payment modes, it provides convenience and flexibility. By accepting credit and debit transactions, merchants can expect an increase in their average ticket size, ultimately driving overall business growth. With PhonePe’s extensive network of over 35 million merchants nationwide, our goal is to expand this solution pan India and deploy 150,000 devices by next year.”
