GUWAHATI, Oct 6: SEMICON India 2025 concluded on a historic note, establishing India’s growing global prominence in the semiconductor and electronics sectors.
Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the mega event was attended by Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Railways and I&B Ashwini Vaishnaw, chief ministers of Delhi and Odisha, Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Commerce & Industries Jitin Prasada, MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan, ISM CEO and Additional Secretary MeitY Amitesh Sinha, among other dignitaries.
Bringing together global industry leaders, startups, and policymakers, the event showcased India’s ambition to become a trusted hub in the global semiconductor value chain.
Between August 21 and September 29, SEMICON India 2025 generated a record 3,886 media features, underscoring the unprecedented interest in India’s semiconductor ecosystem, according to Ashok Chandak, CEO and President of SEMI India and IESA.
Electronic media coverage included over 150 television programmes on platforms such as Doordarshan, CNBC TV18, ET Now, Bloomberg, AajTak, NDTV, Network18, ZEE Business, ANI, PTI, and IANS, reaching crores of viewers across India in multiple languages.
Print media carried more than 564 articles, while online platforms published over 3,390 stories, ensuring sustained visibility for the semiconductor sector.
A series of press releases, MoUs, and media engagements during the event amplified the government’s efforts and private sector participation.
The Prime Minister’s exhibition walkthrough, startup interactions, and focus on accelerating India’s semiconductor roadmap positioned SEMICON India 2025 as a benchmark in global industry engagement.
Ashok Chandak said SEMICON India 2025 was not merely an event but a strategic milestone that elevated India’s credibility as a forward-looking and collaborative semiconductor destination.
“The event’s scale and media footprint will yield long-term dividends by attracting investments, driving innovation, and reinforcing India’s position as a global semiconductor powerhouse,” he noted.
The event recorded strong digital traction, achieving over 9.13 lakh LinkedIn impressions with 1.88 lakh engagements and more than 3.6 million reach on X (Twitter) through real-time updates and amplification by official handles such as PMO, MeitY, ISM, Digital India, SEMI, and IESA.
Multiple MoUs, thousands of business-to-business meetings, and key industry announcements during and after the event reflected its success in catalysing tangible opportunities for the sector.
Organised by SEMI India, IESA, and ISM/MeitY, SEMICON India 2025 served as a catalyst for business and industry development, integrating startups, global majors, and policymakers under one platform. Regional outreach across multiple states ensured the event resonated deeply with India’s broader growth narrative. The organisers expressed gratitude to media professionals and all stakeholders for their contribution in making SEMICON India 2025 a global success and a pivotal moment in India’s semiconductor journey.
