The UNC team had a separate meeting with the villagers including the chairman and his team. The UNC team was briefed by the villagers about the incident. The UNC team interacted with the villagers and noted the minutes and sequence of the incident.

“During the interaction with the village council and women society leaders, it has been confirmed that a constable by the name Thiyam Ashok Singh of the 87 Bn. CRPF posted at Puiluan village had planted trap-bomb near the National Highway 37 at about 7:30 am. The CRPF man was caught red handed by the women folks,” the UNC alleged. The UNC said that the “intention has not been revealed to us, but the constable admittedly told to his post commander DSP R.K. Tonglun (CRPF)  and in the presence of the village council and women folks, that he planted the bomb under the directive of Assam Rifles”.

The UNC then said, “For immediate investigations and stringent actions against all the ranks and files of these criminal jawans of the security forces involved, the UNC will write a representation to the Home Ministry and other authorities concerned”. The UNC then warned, “Failing on the part of the Government, the UNC will see that these criminal jawans do not go scot free”. (NNN)
