New Delhi, April 12: The Ministry of External Affairs of India issued an advisory on Friday, urging citizens to refrain from travelling to Israel and Iran until further notice. The advisory comes in light of the ‘prevailing situation’ in the region.
Indians residing in Iran or Israel have been requested to register themselves with the Indian embassies in these countries.
The ministry also advised Indian nationals in these countries to take the utmost precautions and limit their movements. This advisory comes amidst reports of Iran planning an offensive attack on Israel within the next 48 hours.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel is preparing for the potential attack. The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza continues, with no immediate end in sight.
Iran’s intention to go on the offensive follows a strike on its consulate in Damascus, Syria, which resulted in the death of a top Iranian general and six other military officers. Iran holds Israel responsible for the attack, while Israel has yet to publicly respond to these allegations.
