ABVP Jowai unit organised ‘U Kiang Nangbah Best Student Award-2023’

GUWAHATI, Sept 14: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Jowai
unit organised ‘U Kiang Nangbah Best Student Award-2023’
recently at District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, Jowai.
The occasion was graced by cabinet minister of Meghalaya
Kyrmen Shylla, minister of revenue and disaster management,
excise department as the chief guest, Puramon Kynjing,Pa
Dalloi Jowai Elaka as guest of honour and Nibiang Sumer, East
Khasi Hills, district organising secretary of ABVP as the speaker
of the Programme.
The felicitation programme was attended by more than 80
toppers along with parents of SSLC and HSSLC examination

2023 from the secondary and higher secondary schools of the
Jaintia Hills who have excelled in their respective institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Kyrmen Shylla lauded the
achievement of the young achievers and motivated them to
work for the uplifting of Nation. He mentioned that like ABVP
give priority to the time, students also must prioritise time and
complete their assignments in time.
He said that to achieve success in life discipline and hardwork is
very important. He mentioned that students are the driving
forces to bring positive development in the state and the
country.
Puramon Kynjing give a brief history about the life of U Kiang
Nangbah who despite facing hurdles took the courage to fight
against the Britishers and help in the freedom struggle of the
country.
The Speaker, Nibiang Sumer spoke about the various activities
of ABVP and mentioned how ABVP is contributing in the
national reconstruction by chanellising the students power in
positive direction. She mentioned how being a student
organisation, ABVP had rendered its service for the social cause
of the Nation thereby giving proper guidance to the students
and the youth through its various activities and forum.
