Itanagar, April 18: Tensions escalated into a gunfire exchange in Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh between supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National People’s Party (NPP).
Witnesses report that the conflict, which broke out about 30 minutes ago, is a result of alleged attempts by the BJP, in association with the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN), to take over a polling booth before the upcoming vote.
