Central team assess damages in Nagaland’s Kiphire district

KOHIMA, Dec 12 (NNN): A central team led by Ravinesh Kumar FA, NDMA, Anil Kumar Singh, under Secretary Rural Housing Division Department of Rural Development, and Ankit Umrao, Assistant Executive Engineer MORTH, and officials from kohima assessed the damages due to natural calamities in Kiphire in eastern Nagaland and had a joint meeting with the district heads of departments and various NGOs leaders at DC’s Conference Hall in Kiphire on Monday.

T Wati Aier, deputy commissioner of Kiphire district, highlighted the activities of DDMA Kiphire. He said that in the year 2022 due to heavy windstorms and natural calamities many houses were damaged and even road connectivity was affected in many villages.

 

Meanwhile, the DDMA Kiphire along with the administration visited the affected areas and incentives were given to those affected villages.

Aier then informed that awareness and training were held in various schools, public places, and offices by DDMA Kiphire to students and public to be well prepared in times of earthquake and building collapse.

 

Later, the Power department, and DEO of Kiphire also highlighted some of the grievances and problems faced by the department that were affected by the landslide and heavy windstorm, and in this regard, the central team informed them to apply to the NSDMA and matters will be looked at the earliest.

The central team also visited the places affected by a landslide at Forest ward in Kiphire.
