Appreciating the police, Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh tweeted: “Gold smuggler busted with large amounts of gold! As we intensify the crackdown against the smugglers, the Kakching Police has apprehended one Prakash Kshetri (23) a resident of Moreh, Ward No 8 along with 18 bars of gold weighing 2.9 kgs during frisking at Pallel check-post today.”

After the necessary formalities, the seized gold and the arrested individual were handed over to the Customs Department for further necessary action.
