AGARTALA, Oct 8. The much-awaited three-day Diwali Fair and Festival is all set to dazzle at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple from October 20 to 22, officials announced on Wednesday.

The festival promises a vibrant blend of devotion, culture, and community spirit.

Preparations for the grand event were meticulously discussed during a meeting of the Diwali Fair and Festival Committee, held today at the conference hall of the Gomati district administration.

The meeting was chaired by State finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy, who emphasised the importance of ensuring a smooth, safe, and enjoyable experience for pilgrims and visitors alike.

Minister Singha Roy called for effective coordination among all departments and organisations to make the celebrations truly memorable.

He also highlighted that the festival will feature a colorful cultural program with performances by renowned artists from both within and outside the state.

In addition, stalls showcasing developmental initiatives by various government departments will be set up at the venue.

“The Mata Tripura Sundari Temple will be adorned with spectacular lights, and comprehensive security arrangements have been planned. To ensure the smooth conduct of the fair, a monitoring committee has been formed under the chairmanship of MLA Abhishek Debroy, supported by 14 sub-committees overseeing different aspects of the festival,” the minister said.

Prominent attendees of the meeting included Chairman Debal Debroy, MLA Abhishek Debroy, MLA Jitendra Majumdar, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Sheetal Chandra Majumdar, Additional District Magistrate Jayanta Chakraborty, and representatives from various departments.

The district administration has assured residents and visitors that all measures have been taken to ensure the festival is safe, vibrant, and enjoyable, promising a Diwali celebration to remember.
