GUWAHATI, July 2: The Lotus TMT Mobile Medical Bus, sponsored by BDG Metal & Power Limited, the manufacturer of Lotus TMT, reached Guwahati from Kolkata about five months back with an aim to provide free and better health care to the common man living in the rural areas of Assam. After organising the first camp in Guwahati on February 9, this free mobile medical bus service was constantly engaged in reaching rural and remote areas located in different districts of Assam to check-up the people living there. A total of 118 camps were organised through the Lotus TMT bar free mobile medical bus service of BDG Ramesh Goyal Seva Sansthan for about five months, in which 23 thousand people were benefited.
Eye testing and treatment, dental testing and treatment, ENT testing and treatment, pathological laboratory facility, general OPD, ECG and X-ray facilities were available by the people of Assam through this mobile medical bus in the camp organised in collaboration with Anand Lok Hospital. Out of the total 23000 benefited villagers, 10200 people took benefit of ECG, X-ray etc under general check-up. During the camp after examining the eyes of 10600 people, the needy were provided with free spectacles and eye drops. Apart from this, teeth cleaning, treatment and filling of 2200 people were done under the dental check-up.
Sanjay Gupta, in-charge of the free medical bus camp, said that the local police along with various NGOs of Assam have successfully organised the free mobile medical bus service camps. There was a lot of cooperation from the administration. He said that wherever the bus reached, the local people also extended their full cooperation. He said that in future also the Lotus TMT Bar of BDG Ramesh Goyal Seva Sansthan will be given free mobile medical bus service.
