Manipur: Leader of militant organisation UNKP shot dead in Churachandpur

Churachandpur, May 5: A United Kuki National Army (UKNA) leader was reportedly killed in Churachandpur district, Manipur.

The deceased was identified as Thangminlien Haokip, also known as Hunter, the camp commander of UKNA. Haokip was allegedly killed near Old Nabil village in Churachandpur early Sunday morning.

It is pertinent to note that UKNA had previously claimed responsibility for an attack on oil and gas tankers on the Jiribam-Imphal National Highway in Thallen Kuki village under Kaimai police station on April 16, 2024, where several trucks were fired upon, resulting in injuries to a driver.
