DIMAPUR, Aug 5: Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir raised the long-pending Dimapur-Tizit new railway line project issue in the state during the ongoing Parliament session on Tuesday.
Raising the issue through a written submission under Rule 377, Jamir highlighted that the project was taken up by the railways ministry (NER) in 2013–14, a Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee release said.
The project was planned to cover 257 kilometers, with an estimated cost of Rs 4,27,000 crore.
He said despite the passing of more than a decade, the financial progress of the project remained at “zero.”
Jamir urged the railways minister to take immediate steps and ensure the early implementation of the project.
Meanwhile, the MP also joined the protest led by the INDIA bloc in Delhi against special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar, standing in solidarity with the people.
