Student from Guwahati Amerigog CRPF KV drowns in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, July 16: A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Saturday afternoon as a Class VIII student of Guwahati Amerigog CRPF Kendriya Vidyalaya drowned in a pond near Kokrajhar Kendriya Vidyalaya. The young student, identified as David Teron, had traveled to Kokrajhar with his school team to participate in the Under 14 KV (Guwahati Region) Regional Subrata Cup football tournament held at Kokrajhar Kendriya Vidyalaya premises from July 13 to July 15.

As per the school authority, David Teron and three of his teammates had gone to a pond located around one kilometer away from the school premises for a bath. Tragically, it was reported that he drowned in the pond. Alarmed, his teammates quickly returned to inform the school authorities, who promptly rushed to the scene. They managed to rescue David Teron from the deep water and swiftly transported him to Rup Nath Brahma Civil Hospital in Kokrajhar. However, despite their efforts, the doctor pronounced him dead.

This unfortunate incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the school and the entire community. The school administration and staff are extending their support to David Teron’s family during this difficult time. Authorities are also coordinating with the local authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The loss of a young life is always a tragedy, and the untimely demise of David Teron has deeply saddened the Guwahati Amerigog CRPF Kendriya Vidyalaya and the wider community. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends as they cope with this devastating loss.
