DIMAPUR, Jan 31: As part of the Government of India’s 100-day intensified campaign to eliminate TB from the country, the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), Wokha district and the Community Health Centre, Bhandari, conducted Jan-Jan Ka Rakhe Dhyaan TB-Mukt Bharat campaign (NI-Kshay Shivir) at Bhandari in Wokha district on Friday.
Speaking in the programme, Wokha senior treatment supervisor Renben Tsanglao said the health screening camp for the community was conducted to assess the disease amongst the vulnerable population.
He said the Government of India launched the campaign to accelerate TB case detection, reduce mortality and prevent new cases through focused intervention to achieve total elimination of the disease.
Speaking on the importance of early screening, detection, signs, and symptoms of TB, he emphasised the importance of coming forward without fear or reluctance.
Tsanglao also highlighted the assistance and measures implemented by the government towards the total elimination of the disease.
Free health screening for non-communicable diseases, X-rays and blood and sputum tests were also conducted during the camp.
