GUWAHATI, Nov 17: The National Integration Tour (NIT) for 20 students from Imphal East District of Manipur, concluded recently at Koirengei. The NIT has been flagged-in by the General Officer Commanding, Red Shield Division.
The 10-day tour provided an enriching experience of visiting and experencing the rich heritage of Delhi, Agra and Lucknow, offering an enriching, cultural and educational journey. Key highlights included an exclusive interaction with the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, visits to the iconic monuments Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri. Students got an exposure to visit the premier Indian Army institutions, the Army Airborne Training School and the 11 Gorkha Regimental Recruitment Center. Interaction with the President and senior military leaders inspired the students, to instill in them a sense of patriotism and be part of the nation building.
During the flag-in ceremony, the GOC, emphasised upon the transformative power of travel in broadening perspectives and enriching knowledge. Upon their return, the students shared their joyful and awe-inspiring stories, reflecting the profound impact of the tour.
This initiative exemplifies the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to guiding the youth toward understanding India’s rich cultural diversity and integrating them into the national fabric, fostering a strong sense of unity and pride for the motherland.
