Two nabbed with 338 gram heroin, 3.963 kg of WY tablets in Manipur

IMPHAL, Oct 15: Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested with a huge quantity of illegal drugs by a team of Narcotic and Affairs of Border (NAB) division of Manipur police, police said on Friday.

The police said that a team of NAB on Thursday detained one person later identified as Sanahal Singh of Imphal West district after 338 gram heroin powder and 3.963 kg of WY tablets were recovered from a car (Maruti A-Star) he was travelling in.

The car heading towards the northern side from Imphal along NH-2 was stopped for checking at Kanglatongbi Bridge and searched the vehicle on suspicion.

On thorough checking of the vehicle, NAB personnel detected 25 soap cases containing suspected Heroin (No.4) and 18 bundles of suspected WY tablets (each bundle containing about 2000 pieces).

The drugs were found concealed in the four doors of the car, the police further said.

On weighing the 25 soap cases and 18 bundles, it was found to weigh 338 gram and 3.963 kg respectively, the police added.

In further operation based on the disclosure made by the individual, the NAB team arrested one of his associates as Th.Paul.

The arrested persons and seized items were handed to NAB police station in Imphal where a case was registered for investigation, the police further added. (NNN)
