GUWAHATI, Oct 18: The Guwahati City Chess Championship-2024 for Under-9 and Under-13 categories, organised by the Guwahati City Chess Association, will take place on October 19 and 20 at Shikshak Bhawan, according to an official press release issued on Friday. The top four players in both the boys’ and girls’ sections for the Under-9 and Under-13 categories will be selected to represent Guwahati in the upcoming All Assam Inter-District Under-9 and Under-13 Chess Championship.
The tournament will follow the Swiss league system with classical time control across six rounds. The first round will commence at 9:00 AM on October 19. The final round is scheduled for October 20, 2024, with the prize distribution ceremony set for 4:30 PM on the same day. Approximately 150 players from across Guwahati are expected to participate in the event
