Haflong, April 22: The Haflong Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Agartala Sector/HQ IGAR (East) has organised an Inter Village Volleyball Competition for engagement of tribal youths for the villages under Laisong constituency of Dima Hasao district. The Inter Village Volleyball Competition being organised by Haflong Battalion was inaugurated by NC Hills Autonomous Council CEM Debolal Garlosa, in presence of NCHAC chairperson Ranu Langthasa and EM Poudaming Nriame at Hajaichak Village.
The week-long Volleyball competition has been organised under the theme ‘Say no to Drugs’ India by engaging the tribal youth of the area and to promote “Khelo India ”.
The aim of the competition is to uphold the sportsmanship among the Tribal youth as well as provide a platform for players to showcase their talent. A total of 16 teams including 02 teams of Assam Rifles are participating in the said Competition which is scheduled from 22 Apr to 30 Apr 2023.
The local teams are from the villages of Laisong Constituency of Dima Hasao District Assam. The civil administration, all Village Authorities and the locals extended their gratitude while appreciating the initiatives of the Assam Rifles.
