Two police personnel escape from suspected militants’ attack in Manipur

IMPHAL, July 12 (NNN):  Two personnel of the Manipur police commandos escaped an attack by suspected militants in the border town of Moreh that is severely affected by the ongoing violence, according to police.

The incident happened in broad-daylight, around 9.30 am on Wednesday when the two police commandos in civvies posted in the border town went out to buy medicines from a pharmacy.

Upon seeing them, the suspected armed militants asked them to stop. But, they left the place sensing danger to their lives hurriedly.

Then, the suspected militants opened some gunshots toward them.  They did not suffer any injury in the firing but one of them sustained minor injuries on his head after he banked on a parked auto-rickshaw while escaping from the attackers, the police added.
