One arrested in Jorhat; arms recovered

JORHAT, May 5: A man was arrested by police from Bhogamukh Lahowal village under Bhogamukh police station in Jorhat district after a pistol with ammunition was reportedly recovered from him on Wednesday.

Nabajyoti Borkotoky alias Kolia was apprehended from his house after police recovered a 7.62 pistol along with four rounds of ammunition from his possession, a police source stated.

The source said that Nabajyoti, a surrendered Ulfa member, was keeping the arms illegally and has been booked under the relevant provisions of the law, the source added.
