Police said that the special police commando unit, Khabeisoi, busted the workshop run by vehicle lifters at Kongba Ucheckon Khunou based on disclosure made by Meghajit who was arrested earlier during a search operation at Porompat Pangal Leirak. According to police, the arrested person admitted that he was involved in modifying stolen vehicles of two-wheelers at a secret workshop in Kongba Ucheckon Khunou along with one of his colleagues Dinesh Singh.

During the raid at the workshop, the police commandos recovered two two-wheelers – one Access chassis (black), one Activa chassis (silver) – different accessories parts of two-wheelers, police added.

This is the second time in less than 48 hours that Manipur police busted motor workshops allegedly run by vehicle lifters, specially for modification of stolen vehicles.

In a follow up action, the police team conducted a search at the house of Dinesh Singh and recovered one laptop, two android mobile phones, one apache two-wheeler and numerous vehicle engines, allegedly used in the modification of stolen two-wheelers.
