Lions & Leo Club raises awareness on Cancer

GUWAHATI, Aug 26: The Lions & Leo Club of Guwahati
Elite, in its ongoing commitment to community well-being,
conducted a Cancer Awareness Programme on Saturday
at Happy Child High School.
The event brought together around 80 female students of
class 9-12, to learn about the importance of cancer
prevention and early detection.
Esteemed speakers graced the event, including Dr JN
Buragohain, senior consultant on cosurgeon ”managing
director of Kumar Nursing Home; Dr Junamoni Borgohain,
senior consultant gynaecologist” managing director of
Kumar Nursing Home; and Dr Mahamaya Prasad Singh, a
renowned specialist in head and neck oncology,
microvascular, and reconstructive surgeries.
The speakers shared valuable insights on vital topics like
breast cancer, cervical cancer, and the adverse effects of
tobacco consumption.
Emphasising the need for early detection and prevention,
the speakers engaged the audience with informative talks,
shedding light on the significance of maintaining a healthy
lifestyle and being proactive in one’s health choices.
The Cancer Awareness Programme was skillfully
organised by Lion Ankita Agarwal, Lion Sarita Saha, and
Leo Sai Charan. Their dedication and passion were
evident in every aspect of the event, ensuring its
resounding success.
A special highlight of the event was the presence of Leo
Pramit Gangh, District President of Leo District 322G, who

graced the occasion and extended his support to the
initiative.
