DIMAPUR, Sept 25: Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP on Monday appointed Benjamin Yepthomi as the new president of Nagaland BJP, replacing Temjen Imna Along, who is also a minister in the state cabinet.
BJP national president JP Nadda has appointed Yepthomi as the state president of Nagaland BJP, party national general secretary and headquarters in-charge Arun Singh said in an organizational appointment letter.

Yepthomi, who hails from Dimapur district, has been an active member of the party for a long time and held various positions in the party.
He was the state vice-president of the party and state BJYM president for two consecutive terms.
Yepthomi played a key role in the election management of the party in 2018 and 2023 state assembly elections and campaigned for the party in elections of various states like Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Bengal, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
He was also in charge of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally at Dimapur during the last assembly elections and had successfully organized the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ of the party.
