Swasthya Manthan 11: NHM organises comprehensive health review workshop

GUWAHATI, Jan 30: National Health Mission, Assam, organised Swasthya Manthan-11, a comprehensive review and orientation workshop held on Tuesday, at the Assam Water Centre in Guwahati. The event saw the participation of key figures, including Dr M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS, mission director – NHM, Assam, Pankaj Chamuah, ACS, OSD, NHM, Assam, Dr Kareng Rongpipi, in-charge DHS, zonal administrative officers, state programme officials, and district health teams, alongside representatives from partner organisations.

The one-day workshop drew participants from all districts, under the guidance of the joint director of Health Services. Notable attendees included MDR & CDR nodal officers, district programme managers, district quality consultants, district family planning coordinators, hospital administrators, and other concerned district officials. The focal point of the workshop was a district-wise review of health performance, with a particular emphasis on family planning, quality assurance, and maternal and child health. Discussions revolved around strategies to enhance the overall health status of the state’s population.

A meticulous identification of facility-wise gaps was conducted during the meeting, with subsequent presentations and detailed discussions on facility-wise improvement plans. The overarching goal was to identify any necessary course corrections at the district level and provide the required support to enhance health indicators.

In recognition of outstanding achievements, the best-performing districts – Charaideo, Dhubri, Tinsukia, Nagaon, Kamrup, and Dibrugarh – were felicitated for their various activities under the Family Planning Division. Additionally, facilities certified under the NQAS received awards. The dedication and excellence of MPWs from each district, as well as outstanding performers at the state, district, and development partner levels, were also acknowledged and felicitated by Dr M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS, mission director – NHM, Assam.

Commencing with Swasthya Manthan – 1 on June 8, 2022, and progressing through Swasthya Manthan – 10 on November 29, 2023, these strategically organised workshops marked significant milestones. Each of these gatherings played a crucial role in providing a platform for collaborative discussions and planning to enhance healthcare in Assam. The specific dates for each event are as follows: Swasthya Manthan – 1 on June 8, 2022, Swasthya Manthan- 2 on August 2, 2022, Swasthya Manthan – 3 on September 27, 2022, Swasthya Manthan – 4 on October 31, 2022, Swasthya Manthan – 5 on December 28, 2022, Swasthya  Manthan – 6 on March 4, 2023, Swasthya Manthan – 7 on April 26, 2023, Swasthya  Manthan – 8 on June 3, 2023, Swasthya Manthan – 9 on September 29, 2023, and Swasthya Manthan – 10 on November 29, 2023. These gatherings underscored a sustained commitment to addressing healthcare challenges and continuously improving health outcomes in the state.
