Chandan Brahma and his followers joined a grand rally in connection with the joining program, which was organised before joining the UPPL, starting from Kajalgaon stadium playground and traversing the national highway to Kajalgaon market community complex. UPPL supremo and CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro, working president and Rajya Sabha MP, Rwngwra Narzary, NDA alliance candidate for Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, Joyanta Basumatary, deputy CEM of BTR, Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, and several senior party leaders extended a warm welcome and felicitation to Chandan Brahma with traditional aronai and bouquets amidst the presence of a huge gathering.

Remarkably, Brahma became a cabinet minister of the Assam government for the straight third consecutive term, beginning from 2006 to 2021, as he was elected to the Assam assembly from Sidli constituency, and he faced defeat in the 2021 assembly elections. CEM Boro welcomed ex-minister Chandan Brahma and his followers to the UPPL fold, saying that it is a great moment for the people of the Bodoland region to welcome the newly joined members from the BPF party. He said that people cutting across communities in the Bodoland region have expressed their goodwill towards the welfare and development activities initiated by the UPPL party and its government of the Bodoland Territorial Region. He mentioned that the people want peace and progress, and accordingly, people want the UPPL party among the citizens.

Boro further said that the UPPL party is committed to working for all-round development and welfare of the citizens and rendering services for bringing healthy wellbeing of the people since its inception to power. He said that the popularity of the UPPL party is now gaining momentum among the citizens, and subsequently, joining of people is taking place every day across the region. He said that the NDA alliance (BJP, UPPL, and AGP) candidates, including Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency of the state, are winning the majority seats with mass support in the ensuing Parliamentary elections. He expressed his hope that NDA candidate for Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, Joyanta Basumatary, will be winning the Lok Sabha elections with a huge margin of votes as people cutting across communities are coming forward to extend support to the NDA alliance candidate. On the question of Opposition BPF, CEM Boro said that the BPF party has now become irrelevant among the citizens at today’s juncture, as the BPF party failed to address the people’s grievances in their 17-year rule in Bodoland Territorial Region.

After joining the UPPL party, Chandan Brahma said that he joined the ruling UPPL party along with his thousands of party followers. He praised the UPPL party-led BTR government, saying that the BTR government’s efforts and initiatives are very much appreciated in today’s hour. He said that he joined the UPPL party to render services for humanity welfare and uplift among people. He has predicted that the BPF’s present scenario has gone to the bottom, and accordingly, BPF’s hemoglobin meter has gone under 5, and post Lok Sabha elections, its position will be worsening with a meter of 3 to the bottom. He said that the BPF party has lost its mass base among the citizens. He said that NDA alliance candidates are getting a majority win in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. “We joined the UPPL party to render humanity welfare services for the people,” Brahma added.
